A Trip to Portugal
We spent November in Portugal, dividing time between Lisbon and the beach towns of the Algarve.
Photography by Jarvis Archer, words and curation by Casey Hutton. With thanks to Yolanda Barroso of Goodnight Hostel Lisbon for the mixtape.
Europe's edge, crumbling into the sea. Stone streets, tiled walls, lilts of Arabic, African swagger, men whispering hashish. Broken things are also beautiful.
The Thieves' Market on a stormy day. Setting off south with Jesus watching. Fishermen risking their bodies on wind-wracked cliffs. Red and white lighthouses, pottery, old men eyeing the horizon. Low season hotels, watery grottoes, moonlight blessing the ocean.
Sky. Sea. Land and life clinging on between.
